![]() The cloud version simply isn’t designed to do the same thing. Want to find all the pictures you’ve ever shot at 1/10th of a second? Lightroom Classic makes that easy and near-instant. For instance, you can search for images shot on a particular model of camera, but Lightroom Classic allows you to filter not just by camera body but by lens, or even precise focal length, or aperture, or shutter speed. For example, of course the cloud version of Lightroom allows you to search images via text, in the keyword and caption metadata boxes, but only allows very basic filtering. ![]() If you have a lot of images (my Lightroom library is now touching over 140,000 images, the overwhelming majority of them RAW), the cloud-based version of Lightroom simply doesn’t come close when it comes to navigating and searching very large repositories of photographs. If you can imagine it, you can probably do it here (Image credit: Dave Stevenson) Just hate to pull the case out, open it up, and mess inside but I'll give it a try.Lightroom Classic offers endless tools for editing. My computer manufacturer support rep ran several diagnostic programs on all drives and all showed totally AOK so wondering how K showed healthy if contacts were dirty. Even though LR is supposed to handle even more than that, do you think possible this is just stretching it too far? I guess I should try your cleaning suggestion first and see where that goes. I should point out I have over 596000 images in my catalog. This is the closest to being "fixed" it's ever been. ![]() It still is a bit slow to show all thumbnails but only for a second or two where before it would just get stuck and never build them unless I clicked on each one, and even then sometimes nothing would happen. ![]() So far, a huge improvement! No stalling at all. So I deleted that folder, emptied recycle bin, and then copied my LR folder from K drive to C drive. I created a new Lightroom folder and catalog on C drive and imported approx 8000 images.
